Acne and Treatment

Acne is a chronic inflammation of the sebaceous hair follicles. It occurs mainly in young men and women, especially in young men during puberty. The acne tends to clear up after puberty, but may persist later in adolescence or adulthood. Acne usually occurs in the face, chest, back and other parts with active sebaceous glands. A feature is the blackheads in the enlarged pores that reveal a white, semi-translucent body when squeezed. There are usually no symptoms, but if severe, can cause pain and tenderness.
During puberty, large amounts of oil are secreted on the face, causing oily skin. In addition, bacterial infections can cause pus to form, leaving skin damaged and scarred. Therefore, prevention and treatment of acne should inhibit the infection to take place.

Suitable herbs for the treatment of Propionibacterium acne include: Salvia, Lotus Alice, Polygonum cuspidatum, honeysuckle, gentian, Folium, angelica root, etc. It is also necessary for the treatment to be able to control excessive oil and have anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties in order to really improve the problem. Herbs with these properties include rhubarb, peony, hawthorn and so on.
Herb de Orient’s Problem Skin products contain the abovementioned herbs and many other herbal extracts. Care has also been taken to ensure the product is gentle and fragrant. The range consists of Problem Skin Body Wash, facial cleanser, toner, mask and essence.
