Acne FAQ

1. Does chocolate and fried food cause acne?
There has been no scientific research that links acne to the kind of food you eat. But loading up on fruits, vegetables and drinking heaps of water will not hurt!

2. Why do I have acne?
Stress, genetics, lack of sleep, hormones all play a role. When your pores get blocked by sebum, bacteria grows, leading to the growth of blackheads and whiteheads. If the follicle wall gets ruptured, inflammatory acne can occur.

3. My skin is oily. Should I moisturize?
Yes. Moisturizing will help in regulating oil production in your skin. Use an oil control (non comedogenic) moisturizer instead.

4. How do I prevent acne?
Wash your face twice a day with a cleanser with glycolic acid AHA. Moisturize with an oil free face cream after. Don't pick on zits, blackheads and whiteheads. Avoid irritating the skin with scrubs. Always use a sunscreen even if you are exposed to the sun for a short time.

Factors That Cause Loose Sagging Skin

Smooth, crystal clear, porcelain-like, fair skin – the ultimate desire of every beauty conscious woman. Let’s discover the secret to beautifully firm skin…

Most anti-ageing products in the market now only focus on achieving wrinkle-free skin, and not on age-related skin problems such as enlarged pores.

Loose, saggy, ageing skin is a problem faced by many. Make up only provides a temporary solution, leaving the root of the problem unsolved. To tackle the problem, the only solution is to religiously carry out a tailored skin care regime to restore the natural firmness of yesteryears.

Factor #1 Dehydration

When the skin's epidermal layer lacks moisture, the skin cells will begin to shrink and pores and wrinkles will appear more visible. Hence, it is essential to keep skin moisturized..

Factor #2 Accumulation of dead skin

The skin renewal process will constantly regenerate new skin cells on the surface. Old and dead skin cells will form a layer over these new cells. If these dead skin cells are not duly exfoliated, the skin’s metabolism will be slowed down and cause pores to enlarge.

Factor #3 Age

With age, the skin’s blood circulation will slow down. The subcutaneous fat layer will become loose and less elastic too. Without proper care, the ageing of the skin will be accelerated, causing the pores to naturally expand.

Factor #4 Wrinkles

With age, the skin’s metabolism becomes a lot weaker, essential fats and water supplied to the cells are reduced as well. When the skin starts to age and lose its elasticity, it is difficult to make it firm again, thus resulting in wrinkles.

Aging Skin

The fast-paced life in today’s society accelerates ageing of the skin, resulting in reduced skin elasticity, wrinkles, dryness, dullness. In addition, research has shown that skin will tend to lose its elasticity from 20 years of age onwards. Between 30 to 50 years of age, wrinkles, dark spots and pigmentation are more obvious. Other environmental factors such as wind and rain, sun, alcohol and smoking also accelerate the ageing process. Physical factors like cellular metabolism, amount of oxygen in cells are affected by free radicals that result in ageing.

For the product to achieve a true anti-ageing effect, the plant extracts used must be able to have anti-oxidation properties, superoxide dismutase (SOD), which performs a metabolic role in moisturizing and sun protection, slowing down the ageing process.

When the follicular openings are blocked, the Propionibacterium acnes multiply, causing inflammation. thus forming pimples. Pus formed can cause damage to the hair follicles and sebaceous glands.
